National Policy Paper
The Australian Lawyers Alliance has developed a range of policies relating to the protection and promotion of justice, freedom and the rights of the individual. These policies are based on the belief that individual freedoms must be predicated on:
- The recognition that all people are free to live their lives without injury, personal, political or religious oppression or prejudice;
- Equal access to justice before a truly independent judiciary;
- Limits on government power to interfere with individual rights;
- A constitutional representative democracy in which all citizens have the right and ability to periodically elect governments.
