The purpose of the ALA Dust Diseases Special Interest Group is to:
- Represent the interests of ALA members and their clients to government and other stakeholders in matters related to dust diseases;
- Develop, promote and respond to policies affecting the rights of individuals affected by dust disease to obtain fair compensation;
- Promote a wider social and legislative trend towards greater protection of people with dust diseases, and protection of people who risk exposure to factors that cause the disease;
- Provide a forum for interested members to interact, share information and educate themselves and others.
