Submission to re-established birth trauma inquiry, Parliament of Tasmania

The ALA made a submission in September to the re-established Select Committee on Reproductive, Maternal and Paediatric Health Services in Tasmania (Select Committee).
Our submission, which includes six de-identified client case studies from Tasmania, focuses on:
- birth trauma;
- reproductive health services;
- maternal health services;
- workforce shortages; and
- perinatal mental health services.
The ALA originally made a submission in January 2024 to the Select Committee. However, the Select Committee was then dissolved when Parliament was prorogued ahead of the March election in Tasmania.
