Inquiry into the Legal Practice Board of Western Australia

On 9th September 2025, the ALA made a submission to the Standing Committee on Public Administration for their Inquiry into the Legal Practice Board in Western Australia. The inquiry is reviewing the operation and effectiveness of the Legal Practice Board (LPB) in its role of regulating the Western Australian legal profession.
The ALA submission recommended that the Committee support increased resourcing and process reform within the LPB to address delay and transparency issues and ensuring that the LPB directly handle complaints concerning interstate claims-harvesting.
The Committee is yet to table its report.
