Inquiry into the continuing operation of the National Redress Scheme

The ALA has lodged a submission to the Joint Standing Committee (Committee) on the Implementation of the National Redress Scheme (Scheme) in its inquiry into the continuing operation of the National Redress Scheme.
The ALA's submission supports extending the Scheme for at least five years, and proposes tactical and practical reforms to address delays, strengthen Scheme transparency for survivors, and better align the administration of the Scheme with trauma-informed practices.
The Committee is expected to provide their report by mid to late 2026.
