NSW Workers Compensation Reform Regulations and Guidelines Feedback
15 May 2026
The ALA has made a submission to SIRA and the Department of Customer Service in response to their consultation for the draft Workers Compensation Legislation Amendment Regulation 2026, associated forms and Workers Compensation Guidelines.
The ALA raised concerns that aspects of the draft Regulation may restrict injured workers’ existing rights, complicate access to treatment and compensation, and create unnecessary barriers for workers with psychological injury claims. The ALA also called for further review of the proposed provisions, including in relation to:
- treatment and services,
- principal assessments,
- commutations,
- legal costs,
- savings and transitional arrangements, and
- the proposed claim form and Guidelines.
