Andrew Morrison RFD SC
Wardell Chambers

Andrew Stewart Morrison has been in practice at the NSW Bar since 10 February 1976. He holds the degrees B.A., LL.B. (ANU), M.A. (with Distinction) (Lond), LL.M. (Sydney), Ph.D. (Lond). He has practised largely in common law over the last 43 years. He was appointed Senior Counsel in NSW in 1993 and subsequently commissioned as Queens Counsel in Tasmania and Western Australia.

Dr Morrison has appeared in major common law (particularly personal injury) cases in most states and territories. He has appeared at appellate level in Western Australia and on many occasions since 1979 in NSW. Dr Morrison has also appeared in a significant number of leading cases in the High Court. He has appeared and made submissions with Peter Semmler QC on behalf of the Australian Lawyers Alliance before the Ipp Inquiry in 2001. He has provided expert reports in English litigation (in respect of accidents in Australia) on the law of Western Australia, Queensland and NSW. Dr Morrison has been commissioned and sat as an Acting District Court Judge. He is a former Chairman of the Common Law Committee of the NSW Bar Association. He is the spokesperson for the Australian Lawyers Alliance in respect of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. He is the co-author and co-editor of Goudkamp and Morrison, the Personal Injury Law Manual NSW published by Thomson Reuters.

Dr Morrison holds the rank of Colonel in the Australian Army Reserve and the Reserve Forces Decoration.

Richard Royle
Sir Owen Dixon Chambers

Richard Royle specialises in common law with a particular interest in motor vehicle law, medical negligence, public liability, sexual assault and travel law. He is engaged in numerous catastrophic injury and other cases, and represents Australian residents injured in Australia and overseas.

Richard was originally admitted to practice in the UK, but has been based in NSW for 34 years.

He is a former NSW State President of the Australian Lawyers Alliance and current committee member of the state branch. Richard regularly gives papers at legal seminars and conferences in personal injury related subjects.

He is admitted to practice in England, Wales, most States of Australia and Western Samoa. He has chambers both in Sydney and London.
