Jeremy King appointed new VIC ALA President

28th Oct 2019

Robinson Gill Principal, Jeremy King, has been appointed as the Victorian State President of the Australian Lawyers Alliance (ALA).

“I have been an active member of the ALA for five years, and have represented ALA on numerous TAC and legal matters,” said Mr King.  “The ALA Victorian committee is the strongest it’s ever been and it felt like the right time to run for President.

“The ALA’s long term commitment to promoting access to justice and equality before the law for everyone is important to me.  Every day, as I meet clients, I am reminded that the rights of individuals need ongoing protection and this is one of the key goals of the ALA.”

Mr King’s vision for his term as State President includes:

  • A review of the Victorian Workcover program to improve systems and advocate for greater benefits, especially in the area of mental health, and reduce litigation for workers;
  • Improving abuse claims processes and thresholds; and
  • To more widely promote TAC’s protocols to better support people injured on the road.

Jeremy, who is an Accredited Specialist in personal injury, has built his practice around two discrete areas of expertise: police misconduct and TAC compensation claims.

The Australian Lawyers Alliance (ALA) is a national association of lawyers, academics and other professionals dedicated to protecting and promoting justice, freedom and the rights of the individual.
