Webcast - Qld Personal Injuries Proceedings and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2022 – What you need to know

Overview

The remaining provisions of the Personal Injuries Proceedings and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2022 come into force on 31 October 2022. These contain important requirements to note regarding the supplying of Law Practice Certificates (‘LPC’s) during claims under the Personal Injuries Proceedings Act 2002 (‘PIPA’) and Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 (‘WRCA’).

We have organised this seminar with experts from the ALA’s network to provide a brief overview of the Amendment Act and definition of claims farming; explain the new LPC requirements for PIPA, WRCA and hybrid claims; define changes to the Legal Profession Act 2007; and discuss changes to claims involving terminal illness.

This will be an essential, practice-orientated session geared toward helping lawyers keep across these developments and new requirements.

Speakers

Rod Hodgson, Chair of ALA NIISQ/CTP Special Interest Group

Greg Spinda, Principal Lawyer, Maurice Blackburn Lawyers

Jonathon Walsh, Principal Lawyer, Maurice Blackburn Lawyers

Sarah Grace, Qld President, Australian Lawyers Alliance
