Aviation White Paper Terms of Reference

13th Mar 2023

NATIONAL

The ALA has made a submission to the Federal Government’s consultation on the Terms of Reference of its Aviation White Paper. In our submission, we focus on consumer protections and access to services the ALA would like to see included in the eventual White Paper. We raise matters of delayed and cancelled flight compensation, ‘personal injury’ being compensable, and issues surrounding drones and the proposed treatment of “air mobility” concepts.

Out of this consultation, the Federal Government will release a Green Paper in mid-2023, upon which another round of more detailed consultation will be held, leading to the ultimate release of the White Paper. Once the Green Paper consultation is open, the ALA plans to make a further submission in collaboration with other stakeholders detailing challenges experienced by disabled passengers.
