5th Sep 2023

NATIONAL

The ALA, through our National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Special Interest Group, made a submission in August to the Independent Review of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS Review) in response to the NDIS Review’s interim report, What we have heard.

In our submission, the ALA details our recommendations for guaranteeing appropriate outcomes for NDIS participants and also the sustainability of the NDIS moving forward in relation to the following six ‘priority areas for improvement’ from What we have heard:

  1. Applying and getting a plan;
  2. Defining reasonable and necessary;
  3. The support and service marketplace;
  4. Measuring outcomes and performance;
  5. Supported living and housing; and
  6. Participant safeguards.

The NDIS Review is due to hand down its final report in October 2023.
